We know a man who can...
Charity organizers are waiting anxiously to learn who will benefit from
a £34.000 donation from Sir Colin Marshall whose chairmanships include
British Airways and the Confederation of British Industries. This
is the anticipated amount which each of the full members of the Royal Automobile
Club hope to receive when the sale and demerger of the RAC motoring services
takes place. Sir Colin was made a member overnight at the end of
1997 without complying with the normal 6 month qualifying period in anticipation
of becoming the new chairman of the RAC, although the chairmanship has
passed to a rival candidate it appears that he intends to remain a member
until the sell-off is completed.
